Hashim Amla scored yet another century, his third consecutive  in the series but in vain as India went pass South Africa to register a thrilling win in Kolkata. Amla who was not out overnight at 49 went on to score 127 not out as the South Africans were all out for 290 as other batsman except Amla could leave a mark in this test match.

Harbhajan Singh took five wickets in the innings and led India to a well deserved win after the visitors tried very hard to enforce a draw. India remained the number one test side in the world after winning this test match at Kolkata.
